Albert Maignan Biography
Maignan (1845-1908), born at Beaumont-le-Vicomte, made many trips to Venice. Ariane is typical of his historical paintings, which he began to show at the Salon de Paris in 1868; they can now be seen in many French museums, including those of Angers and Lille.
