Etienne-Maurice-Firmin Bouisset studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and went into portraiture, specializing in children; he even designed murals for children's rooms. He also became proficient in graphic arts as book illustrator, lithographer and designer of calendars.

His design for CHOCOLAT MENIER became one of the most appealing images ever associated with a company. It went through many printings in several languages, and remained the company's symbol for decades. It deserves it--it's an eloquent masterpiece of poster design.
