Henry Koerner Biography

a.k.a. William Henry Dethlef Koerner
WHD was a German-American painter, illustrator, Art Editor. He attended classes at The Chicago Art Institute as well The Francis Smith Art Academy of Chicago. He moved to Wilmington, Delaware to study under Howard Pyle the "Father of American Illustration." He was an illustrator for The Chicago Tribune, The Saturday Evening Post and for plenty of other magazines/newspapers.
